• Description:
  The method is described for determining dinitrotoluene (121142) in the air, including the principle, range and sensitivity, interferences, precision and accuracy, advantages and disadvantages, apparatus, reagents, calibration and standards, and calculations. The principle is based upon analysis by high pressure liquid chromatography of a sample drawn through a mixed cellulose ester membrane filter connected to a midget bubbler containing ethylene- glycol, with subsequent addition of the filter and methanol to the bubbler flask. The range is 0.90-5.0 milligrams per cubic meter with a precision of 0.063 (coefficient of variation). The OSHA standard is 1.5 milligrams per cubic meter (skin). [Description provided by NIOSH]
