  Six Separate Fatal Motor Vehicle Incidents: 1. On April 27, 2006, a 61-year-old driver of a water drilling truck died when his vehicle traveling down a hill was unable to stop at an intersection and went over an embankment and plunged into a creek. 2. On May 15, 2006, a 24-year-old construction foreman driving a pick-up towing a flat bed trailer died when he attempted to pass a vehicle and was struck head-on by a logging truck. 3. On May 23, 2006, a 48-year-old driver of a street sweeper truck was driving along a highway on his way back from a job site when an oncoming vehicle crossed the center line and struck his vehicle. 4. On August 7, 2006, a 47-year-old dump truck driver died when his vehicle left the road and rolled over. 5. On August 25, 2006, a 33-year-old employee of a building equipment contractor, while driving on a highway, was struck and fatally injured by an unsecured object falling off of the trailer of semi-trailer truck that went through his windshield. 6. On September 18, 2006, a 56-year-old worker was fatally injured as he was backing a vehicle across a road and was struck by an oncoming dump truck. Description provided by NIOSH
