Description:A survey of facilities in two states--one with workplace violence prevention regulations and one without--indicates that nursing home administrators know that workplace violence is a risk in their facilities and have instituted policies and programs to prevent it. The programs, though, tend to be piecemeal and informal. Surprisingly, the programs in the regulated state were not more rigorous than those in the other state, probably because of lack of enforcement and limited awareness of the regulations.
