Description:AMSEA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to: Reduce injury and death in the marine and freshwater environment through education and training provided by a network of qualified marine safety instructors. These lessons have been written for the layperson and are intended for presentation by a qualified instructor. This information is a compilation of the most current and up-to-date treatment of the subject matter as it pertains to cold environments. It represents a standard approach to the material that will be useful to a broad spectrum of audiences and needs. This manual was originally developed with support from the Salston-Kennedy Fisheries Development Fund and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. This 9th Edition made possible with support from the State of Alaska Department of Commerce, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, U.S. Coast Guard and AMSEA members.
