Description:Following is a table of standardized vaccine abbreviations, which was developed jointly by staff of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ACIP Work Groups, the editor of the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), the editor of Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (the “Pink Book”), ACIP members, and liaison organizations to the ACIP.
These abbreviations are intended to provide a uniform approach to vaccine references used in ACIP Recommendations and Policy Notes that are published in the MMWR, the Pink Book, and the American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book; and in the U.S. immunization schedules for children, adolescents, and adults.
