Description:Winter temperatures come as no surprise; however, many of us are not ready for their arrival. If you are prepared for the hazards of winter, you will be more likely to stay safe and healthy when temperatures start to fall. Winter storms and lower temperatures can be hazardous to your machines and your body. Prepare your work equipment for colder weather and pack a winter emergency kit to protect yourself. Prepare Work Equipment and Vehicles for Winter: Service the radiator and maintain antifreeze level; check tire tread or, if necessary, replace tires with all-weather or snow tires. Keep gas tank full to avoid ice in the tank and fuel lines. Use a wintertime formula in your windshield washer. Prepare a winter emergency kit to keep in work vehicles in case you become stranded in the woods or fields. This safety blast also includes a list of what the winter emergency kit should include.
