Description:All-terrain vehicle (ATV) crashes have long been recognized as a public health concern in rural areas and in agriculture. However, very little has been published on the deaths and injuries associated with side-by- side (SxS) vehicles, which include recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs). ROVs have become increasingly popular over the past decade and are a valuable work vehicle in many agricultural environments. During this panel, studies that illuminate the epidemiology, mechanisms and outcomes of occupational and recreational side-by-sides crashes will be presented, and the tenets of safety behavior for SxS injury prevention efforts will be discussed.
