Description:Eradication of the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) from the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands will: 1. Eliminate the hazards of epidemics of yellow fever and dengue; 2. Increase the effectiveness of continuing foreign quarantine; 3. Assure that Aedes aegypti will not be exported from the United States to other countries from which it has been eradicated (and where it constitutes a greater hazard because of the proximity of jungle yellow fever); and 4.
