Description:During the first quarter of 1967, a substantial increase in the incidence of reported smallpox cases has been noted as related to the comparable period in 1966. It is interesting to note that Asia alone accounts for this increase as the Americas and Africa have experienced declines during this time interval. Within Asia the increase can he attributed to several current epidemic situations in India.
