  This infographic provides statistics about fatal falls in small business and residential construction. Small businesses (10 or fewer employees) account for 61% of fatal falls in construction. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation remain the leading cause of death for construction workers. Fall fatalities in residential construction more than doubled from 26 deaths in 2011 to 61 deaths in 2015 accounting for 370 of the 991 construction fatalities recorded in 2016 (BLS data).
