Description:The practical recommendations of this code aim to improve the recording and notification of occupational accidents and diseases, especially with a view to developing preventive measures. Topics covered include legal and administrative arrangements, enterprise-level recording, the extension of provisions to the selfemployed, the compilation of statistics and the investigation of occupational accidents and diseases. Equivalent recommendations are made for commuting accidents and dangerous occurrences and incidents. These recommendations, which are not legally binding, are intended for the use of all those who play a role in the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases - public bodies, social security institutions, employers and workers, and their organizations. They are considered as basic requirements, and should not discourage competent authorities from adopting higher standards. [Description provided by NIOSH]
