  The article discusses the investigation conducted by the Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) Program of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) on the prevalence of Valley Fever among the employees of two prisons in the Central Valley of California. According to the investigation, Valley Fever is a type of infection caused by the inhalation of the spores of the fungus Coccidioides.
