Description:The surface tension from 240 deg. to 844 deg. C and the density from 236 deg. to 583 deg. C of 99.999 percent purity liquid tin has been measured using the maximum-bubble-pressure method. Results for surface tension (V) show V (dynes/cm) = 566.84-4.76X10-2 t (deg. C) with a standard error of +- 1.9 Dynes/cm. Results for density (p) show p (g/cm3) = 7.16-6.3X10-4 t (deg. C) with a standard error of 0.012 G/cm3. Comparisons with other data found in the literature are discussed. The experimental results are considered to be as good as any data presently available.
