Description:NIOSH estimates that approximately 8 million healthcare workers may be exposed to hazardous drugs (HDs). Healthcare workers might not be aware that they may be harming their health when they handle HDs, which are known to cause serious side effects in patients and are capable of causing cancer, organ toxicity, fertility problems, genetic damage, and birth defects in healthcare workers.
