Description:A study of workers exposed to vinyl-chloride shows an excessive number of deaths due to cancer of the liver, lung, lymphatic and central nervous systems. The evidence, both epidemiologically and histopathologically, points to vinyl-chloride (75014) as the causal agent in the etiology of such excessive cancer risk. The observation of the carcinogenicity of vinyl-chloride, first in animals and subsequently in man, strongly supports the need for animal bioassays prior to the introduction of chemical or other agents into the industrial or community environment.
