  Injury is the leading cause of death and hospitalization for Americans aged 1-44, with more fatalities resulting from injuries and violence—such as overdose, suicide, motor vehicle crashes, drowning, and homicide—than any other single cause. Annually, these issues cost the U.S. over $4 trillion, impacting workforce and community stability. For more than thirty years, the Injury Center has been the only federal agency dedicated to addressing non-occupational injuries, overdose, and violence, empowering states and cities with the resources and guidance necessary to make the best decisions for their communities.

  We've designed funding fact sheets for the United States, 50 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The purpose of these PDFs is to effectively communicate where Injury Center's appropriation is being distributed across the nation and at the local level while also describing Injury Center's unique strengths and contributions to public health. It also highlights key programmatic funding in a national profile and for each state, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. These PDFs are slated to live in CDC Stacks.
