Description:Bill Hayes, President and CEO of Safway, leads a company with 35,000 employees, 30,000 of them are at risk from falls. Hayes shares the story of an employee death that took place on a scaffold. The death served as a wakeup call for the company to do more. Subsequently, they discovered Safety Stand-Downs. Hayes finds Stand-Downs benefit not only new workers on the job, but also experienced workers who are caught in a pattern of doing things without the best safety behaviors. Large to small construction companies can improve safety on the job site hosting and attending Safety Stand-Downs.
