Description:Air sampling for asbestos (1332214) was conducted at the Maremont- Grizzly Corporation (SIC-3429) in Paulding, Ohio, in February, 1969. Sampling was performed with an impinger and a membrane filter. Breathing zone samples taken with an impinger ranged from 0.2 million particles per cubic foot (mppcf) in the clutch winder area of operations to 0.6mppcf around mixing operations. Impinger general air samples ranged from 0.1mppcf near a saw operator and a drill press operator to 1.4mppcf near a mixer and a form cure operator. Membrane filter samples for breathing zones ranged from 1.12 fiber greater than 5 microns per milliliter (f/ml) near one mixer to 2.02f/ml for the mixing, coating, and extruding operations area. Personal membrane filter samples ranged from 0.05f/ml for a punch press operator to 20.48f/ml for a clutch grinder; this latter measurement was the only concentration to exceed the threshold limit valve of 12.0f/ml.
