Description:Worker exposures to asbestos (1332214) were surveyed at the Johns- Manville Asbestos Textile Facility (SIC-2661) in Manville, New Jersey, during August, 1967. All samples were collected with a membrane filter. Samples with fiber sizes greater than 5 microns in length ranged from 5.9 to 31.7 fibers per cubic centimeter (f/cc) in fiber preparation operations; 3.9 to 25.4f/cc in the carding area; 14.1 to 42.7f/cc in spinning operations, 4.8 to 37.3f/cc in the twisting area, 2.9 to 4.0f/cc in winding operations; and 0.7 to 17.9f/cc for weaving operations.
