Description:Personal air sampling for asbestos (1332214) exposure was conducted by the United States Public Health Service at Raybestos Manhattan, Incorporated (SIC-3292), at Manheim, Pennsylvania during August, 1967. Only sampled fiber sizes greater than 5 microns in length were reported. Atmospheric fiber concentrations produced during textile operations ranged from 0.1 fibers per milliliter (f/ml) near one tape weaver to 16.8f/ml wear a card operator. Samples taken during friction operations ranged from none detected to 12.3f/ml near one edge grinder operator. Packing operations produced air fiber concentrations ranging from 0.6f/ml near a mixer and an edge trimmer to 12.8f/ml near the braider.
