Description:A critical discussion dedicated primarily to the shortcomings of the Toxic Substances Control Act, claims that workers exposed to inorganic arsenic (7440382) have much higher rates of lung and lymph cancers than unexposed workers. Accordingly, following the recommendations of NIOSH, OSHA is ready to propose a reduction in Federal exposure standards for inorganic arsenic to 4 micrograms per cubic meter of air. The problems raised by the burden of proof before a chemical is approved or rejected for mass production, are outlined.
