  Worker exposures to pentachlorophenol (87865) (PCP) were determined at Vulcan Materials Company (SIC-2861) in Wichita, Kansas, on May 23, 1979. The survey was part of a NIOSH industrial hygiene assessment of the wood preservative materials industry. The company had a safety and industrial hygiene program, as well as a medical surveillance program. Medical services were provided by a local clinic. Range finding air sampling was conducted during regular operations at potential exposure sites and yielded concentrations below analytical detection. Limited area sampling in the production facility revealed that PCP concentrations were below the limits of detection.
