Description:This report describes the methods behind estimates of quality-adjusted life year (QALY) losses resulting from nonfatal injuries treated in hospital emergency departments. These are intended to be used to compute quality-of-life losses, to complement medical and work loss costs, in the Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS) Cost of Injury Reports.
