Certain medications, such as psychoactive medications, increase fall risk among older adults aged 65+. Psychoactive medications may cause side effects that increase fall risk by causing vision disturbances, orthostatic hypotension, confusion, and sleepiness.

More than 50% of older adults use psychoactive medications.
