Description:This report presents the results of an epidemiological investigation and a research study that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). CDC conducted this work to assess potential public health hazards from the inadvertent release of genetically modified corn into the human food supply. The focus of this study was to evaluate the potential for allergic reactions among consumers of corn-containing food products.
