Description:Statistics are presented on the utilization of nonfederally employed office-based physicians, non-Federal short-stay hospitals, and nursing homes by women 65 years of age and over. Estimates are based on data collected in the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, the National Hospital Discharge Survey, and the National Nursing Home Survey. Patterns of use are described by demographic characteristics of the patients, patient condition, patient management, and outcome.
