Description:Based on data obtained from a national sample of office-based female and male physicians, statistics are presented on the patient and clinical characteristics of ambulatory care office visits. The focus of the report is on the utilization of medical practitioners according to the sex of the physician. Data are provided on the distribution of visits by sex, race, and age of patients; and age and specialty of the physician. Clinical aspects of the medical practices of female and male physicians are compared.
