Description:Based on data obtained from a national sample of office-based physicians, statistics are presented which describe ambulatory medical care during visits for treatment of diseases of the circulatory system. Physician utilization patterns are described in terms of patient characteristics, patient condition and management, and practice characteristics. Highlighted diagnoses include essential benign hypertension, coronary heart disease, symptomatic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, arteriosclerosis, and selected diseases of veins.
