Description:Statistics are presented on the utilization of short-stay hospitals based on data collected in ~he Hospital Discharge Survey from a systematic sample of records of discharged patients obtained from a national sample of hospitals. Discharges, discharge rates, days of care, and average length of stay are distributed by age and sex according to geographic divisions.
