    Statistics are presented on the number of persons in the civilian noninstitutionalized population with hospitalized and surgical insurance coverage. Private hospital and surgical insurance coverage of persons under 65 years of age is distributed by selected demographic characteristics. Statistics on the number of hospital insurance plans per person, how the plans were obtained, and type of insurance organization are shown for this age group.
