Description:Statistics are presented on sex differences in the incidence and prevalence of illnesses among the civilian noninstitutionalized population and in the utilization of nonfederally employed office-based physicians and non-Federal short-stay hospitals. Estimates are based principally on data collected in the 1979 National Health interview Survey, the 1979 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, and the 1979 National Hospital Discharge Survey.
