Description:The Hispanic Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (HHANES) was conducted from July 1982 through December 1984. The data on the tape documented here are from all three portions of the survey: Mexican Americans Residing in selected counties of Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California; Surveyed from July 1982 through November 1983_9,894 persons sampled; 8,554 interviewed; 7,462 examined; Cuban Americans Residing in Dade County (Miami), Florida_, Surveyed from January 1984 through April 1984_2,244 persons sampled; 1,766 interviewed; 1,357 examined; Puerto Ricans Residing in the New York City area, including parts of New Jersey and Connecticut; Surveyed from May 1984 through December 1984_3,786 persons sampled; 3,369 interviewed; 2,834 examined. This tape contains additional biochemical assessments not previously available on Version 2 of this data tape.
