Description:The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) is administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB). The Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act was passed by Congress in 1990 to address the crisis of the HIV epidemic in the United States. This legislation has been amended and reauthorized 4 times: in 1996, 2000, 2006, and most recently in 2009 as the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009.
