Description:In 1981, as in 1980, information on births of Hispanic parentage was available for 22 States. The States that included an item on their birth certificate on the ethnic or Hispanic origin of the mother and father were Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. These States accounted for nearly 95 percent of the national estimate of Hispanic-origin births in 1981.
