Description:The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) established an office in Haiti in 2002 with an initial focus on HIV/AIDS. After a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake in January 2010, CDC’s support expanded to address Haiti’s critical health needs, such as cholera, as well as longer-term public health interventions. CDC’s increased support to the Ministry of Public Health and Population has resulted in substantial advances in health security and public health system strengthening in Haiti.
