Background information pertaining to previous use of leaky feeder technology is discussed along with the survey methodology. A review of some pertinent facts concerning propagation in tunnels and specific reference to mine tunnel propagation is presented. A summary of the characteristics of each mine visited is presented in tabular form, and methods of procurement and maintenance are discussed. The role of user training in efficient system use is presented. Seven sites representing eight mines are included in the survey. Economic and technical topics are considered.
