Description:Tularemia is a plague-like disease of rabbits, ticks, man, and other animals caused by the rod-shaped bacterium Pasteurella tularensis. Human cases have been reported, in recent years, in 43 of the United States. It also occurs in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
