Description:Sixteen states reported a total of 36 cases of human psittacosis with onsets in 1970, 23 less than were reported in 1969. In addition, three case reports were received on cases with onsets in 1969,increasing the 1969 case total from 56 to 59. Epidemiologic case reports were received on each of the 36 human cases by the Office of Veterinary Public Health Services, Center for Disease Control.
