    In October 1970, 2,573 isolations of saimonelLae were reported from humans, an average of 644 isolations per week (Tables I, II, and V-A). This number represents an increase of 26 (4.2 percent) over the weekly average of September 1970 and an increase of 159 (32.8 percent) over the weekly average of October 1969.

    Reports of 733 nonhuman isolations of salmonellae were received during October 1970 (Tables II, IV, and V-B).
