Description:For the Month of January 1970
In January 1970, 1,543 isolations of salmonellae were reported from humans, an average of 386 isolations per week (Tables I, II, and V-A). This number represents a decrease of 18 (4.5 percent) from the weekly average of December 1969 and an increase of 52 (15.6 percent) over the weekly average of January 1969.
Reports of 777 nonhuman isolations of salmonellae were received during January 1970 (Table II, IV, and V-B).
