Description:For the Month of January 1966.
During January L, 531 human isolations of salmonella were reported. The average number of isolations per week (383) represented an increase of 16 over December 1965, but a decrease of 2 from January 1965. The number of human isolations reported during January followed the expected pattern (See Figure 1). Nonhuman isolations during January totaled 525, 201 less than December 1965.
Included in this issue under CURRENT INVESTIGATIONS is a preliminary report on an outbreak of gastroenteritis due to Salmonella pullorurn and S. paratyphi B in Aurora, Illinois.
