Description:Facing westward, this historic view from 1960, depicts the front of what was once the main entrance to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), otherwise known as Building 1, located on Clifton Road, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2011, Building 1 was removed in order to make way for the construction of more modernized facilities. At that time the modern day CDC was known as the Communicable Disease Center, from 1946 until 1967.
