• Description:
  In past issues of the "VD Statistical Letter," morbidity cases and rates have been presented only for the most recent time period available. The morbidity rates so presented were useful only in determining reported incidence and prevalence in relation to similar data for the same period in other geographical areas, regions and the United States. In order to determine trends, data had to be extracted over a period of time from several different issues of the Statistical Letter.
  
  A time series of cases for states and for large cities will begin with this issue. These tables (pages 3 and 5 respectively) will give the number of cases for the most recent quarter, the cumulative number of cases for the current Fiscal Year and comparable figures for the preceding Fiscal Year. It is hoped that persons responsible for VD control will find these tables interesting and useful.
