  The CDC office in Kyiv, Ukraine was formally established in August 2010. CDC develops the capacity of government and non-government institutions in Ukraine to respond to the AIDS epidemic by providing technical assistance to partners to implement large Global Fund grants. Its strategic focus include:
  
  • Advancing the availability, quality and use of surveillance and program monitoring data for data-driven programming;
  
  • Strengthening the national public health center capacity to lead the HIV epidemic response;
  
  • Strengthening HIV national reference laboratory and laboratory network, especially in quality management systems;
  
  • Enhancing antiretroviral therapy (ART) capacity and HIV and tuberculosis (TB) detection and management;
