Description:As a contribution to this symposium, we of the Communicable Disease Center have brought together some of the basic descriptive statistics concerning measles in the United States. We hope this may serve as a simple frame of reference broadly defining our problem.
The papers in this supplement [entitled: Live measles virus vaccine : recent clinical, laboratory, and epidemiologic findings] were presented before a Joint Session of the Epidemiology and Laboratory Sections of the American Public Health Association at the Eighty-Ninth Annual Meeting in Detroit, Mich., November 13, 1961.
