Description:… advancing the vision of NCBDDD: Babies are born healthy. Children reach their full potential. And everyone thrives. The pathway our staff have accepted to influence this inspirational vision has become both a personal and institutional imperative--wholly achieved through a focus on leadership in their research and the strive for excellence in their professional communities. This report not only summarizes NCBDDD’s programmatic and fiscal achievements for 2015, it demonstrates our resolve to promote the health and well-being of babies, children, and adults.
In 2015, we worked hard to better define and advance our four thematic areas: saving babies through birth defects prevention and research, helping children live to the fullest by understanding developmental disabilities, protecting people and preventing complications of blood disorders, and improving the health of people with disabilities. We continued to work hard this year to achieve solid results in these areas as demonstrated in the accomplishments section of this report and as depicted in our newly launched video which further tells the NCBDDD story and how we protect those who are most vulnerable.
