Description:On September 18-20, 2000 the Ghana Guinea Worm Eradication Program convened its annual National Program Review meeting in Tamale, Northern Region, for the first time. Over 75 persons participated in the meeting, which was chaired by the National Program Coordinator, Dr. Sam Bugri. Also attending were Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Moses Adibo; health officials and Guinea worm staff from all regions and the highest endemic districts; several district chief executives from some of the highest endemic districts; a representative of Ghana’s Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA); International Commission for the Certification of Dracunculiasis Eradication member, Dr. Fred Wurapa; as well as representatives of Global 2000/The Carter Center, UNICEF, WHO, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and US Peace Corps.
