Description:"The number of cases of measles has remained constant for the past 3 weeks, 28,825 being reported for the current week, 28,486 for the previous week, and 29,465 for the week ended March 1. There has been a decline in the number reported In the New England States for the past 2 weeks, while in the Middle Atlantic states the numbers have shown no material change in the past 3 weeks. Aside from a moderate increase in the East North Central and Middle Atlantic States for the current week as compared with the previous 2 weeks, there have been significant changes in other parts of the country. The cumulative total for the first 11 weeks of 1952 is now 230,471 as compared with 139,370 for the same period of 1951. One case of human rabies was reported by Pennsylvania for the current week. During the first 11 weeks of 1952 there have been 4 cases reported. In addition to the 1 reported for the cur-rent week, 2 were in Texas and 1 in Oklahoma. The number of deaths from Influenza and pneumonia reported by 58 cities for the week ended March 8 was 352 as compared with 319 for the previous week. The numbers reported by geographical areas, with corrected figures for the previous week in parentheses, were: New England, 23 (21); Middle Atlantic, 109 (108); East North Central, 64 (57); West North Central, 27 (35); South Atlantic, 38 (31); East South Central, 16 (17); West South Central, 29 (16); Mountain, 7 (7); and Pacific, 39 (27)." - p. 1
