Description:The Data for Health initiative is a partnership between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the CDC Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies and other organizations to assist 20 low- and middle-income countries across Latin America, Asia and Africa. The partnership, funded by a grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, will strengthen birth and death registration systems and improve information on cause of death to bolster policy development. The initiative will also provide experts to create mobile phone risk factor surveys for noncommunicable diseases. Finally, the partnership will help in-country,CDC-supported Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) residents and National Public Health Institute staff to use health data to inform policy development. CDC will engage in the following three components of the Initiative:
