  Welcome to the third quarter global health “e-brief,” designed to inform readers about key global health activities at the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Our third issue for 2007 is focused on child health and child survival. Globally, approximately 10.6 million children under age 5 will die in 2007 and about 4 million of these children die within their first month.
